WA Health Open Disclosure E-Learning Package

Open Disclosure is the open discussion of incidents that result in harm to a patient receiving health care. The National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHSS) require that the clinical workforce is trained in open disclosure.

Whilst there are three modules in the WA Health Open Disclosure E-Learning Package most staff would only ever complete one of the three modules.

Module 1: Introduction to Open Disclosure - (25 minutes) is a very basic introduction and overview suitable for all staff including clerical staff

Senior clinical staff should skip module 1 and move directly to module 2.

Module 2: The Initial Open Disclosure Discussion (2 hours) is the module that would be of interest to senior clinical staff it includes and expands on all the information from module 1

Module 3: Open Disclosure Champion (2 hours) is for open disclosure champions.  Module 2 is a prerequisite for champions.
